John M. Thornton

John M. Thornton is chairman of the board of Mitek Systems Inc., as well as chairman of the board of Thornton Winery Corporation. His family’s Thornton Winery, in Temecula, produces award-winning premium wines and is the host venue for summer concerts in its Champagne Jazz Series.

He is also a noted benefactor of local arts and cultural organizations, including the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Historical Society, and the University of California, San Diego.

Thornton received a bachelor of arts degree from Pomona College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
