Zoological Society of San Diego membership entitles the bearer to admission to the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park (collectively “Parks”) during regular operating days and hours for the duration of the membership term. Membership is non-refundable and non-transferable. Misuse may result in forfeiture. Membership prices and benefits are subject to change. Some memberships may be subject to ZIP code or age restrictions.
Adult membership is for individuals 18 years of age or older. To gain admission to our Parks, adults must present a valid form of photo ID along with either:
- a valid membership card in the adult’s name, or
- a valid membership QR code generated by our proprietary digital app wallet feature.
Re-entry to our Parks will also require a hand stamp.
Child membership (Wildlife Explorers) is for children 3–17 years of age. To gain admission to our Parks, children must present either:
- a valid membership card in the child’s name, or
- a valid membership QR code generated by our proprietary digital app wallet feature.
Verification of age or identity for children may be required at time of purchase or to gain admission to our Parks. Re-entry to our Parks will also require a hand stamp.
Benefits and privileges associated with any membership level including, but not limited to, park admission, guest passes, discounts or accompanying guest privileges, cannot be resold or bartered. Violation may result in the suspension, cancellation and/or revocation of membership. Member benefits have no cash value. Any member whose membership has been revoked cannot renew membership for a consecutive 3-year period starting from the date of revocation. After the 3-year suspension period, the member may only renew at a membership level that does not include free guest passes or accompanying guest privileges.
Special events or promotional attractions may be subject to restricted access and/or additional fees. Due to COVID-19, some limitations, restrictions, and changes to normal operating protocols may apply, including daily capacity limits on attendance, social-distancing measures, screenings, or other recommended or required health and safety precautions. Any days of closure due to causes outside of the Zoological Society’s reasonable control will be considered block out days.
Ticket upgrades to membership require a valid paid ticket and ticket must be presented and surrendered at time of membership purchase. Ticket upgrades must take place on the day of visit. Third-party tickets cannot be upgraded toward annual membership passes.
Requests for membership information from the database of record require a subpoena or formal written request from each member whose information is being requested. Information for child membership will require the written approval of a parent or legal guardian. Additional service and mail fees may apply to process request.
Members of the Presidents Club annual membership categories, Life Members, Honorary Life Members, and Circle Club Members are statutory members within the meaning of California Corporations Code Section 5056. All others are honorary members pursuant to California Corporations Code Section 5332.
Members must abide by the standard code of conduct for our Parks to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, members, guests, employees, volunteers and vendors. Violation may result in the suspension, cancellation and/or revocation of membership.
All individuals entering the Parks with a membership agree not to commercially use any photography or recordings in any form taken at the Parks and grants permission to the Parks and their agents to use their images and/or sound recordings for any purpose whatsoever in perpetuity.
