Giraffes at the Safari Park

Foundation and Corporate Support

If you are affiliated with a grant-making corporation or a private foundation—perhaps a family foundation—we would love to hear from you. The Zoological Society of San Diego (dba San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance), a 501(c)3 organization, has a wide variety of projects and programs in need of funding, including local and global wildlife conservation, laboratory and veterinary equipment needs, major capital projects, and pre-school education through post-graduate internships.

Following are some of our priorities:

Conservation Projects

Help us to repopulate and recover vulnerable populations of endangered species of animals and plants, here in Southern California and in their native habitats around the world. Assist economic sustainability projects with people living in biodiversity "hotspots." Help add to the body of knowledge of rare wildlife species about which little is known. Invest in the future through fellowships or endowments.

Education Programs

Create meaningful animal encounters for underserved K-12 school groups, or provide middle and high school classes in-person and virtual field trips to our Conservation Education Lab to learn hands-on conservation research techniques. Support summer workshops in conservation science for teachers nationwide, interns for summer camp, teen mentors, and live or virtual animal outreach programs for Title I schools, hospital-bound children, and seniors.

Wildlife Health

Help us to purchase veterinary equipment for preventive and emergency care at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. Assist in finding causes of diseases that affect exotic wildlife here and in global biodiversity “hotspots” and help ensure that our animals receive the best possible veterinary care. Help support nutrition research and practices that benefit a wide variety of species in our care and at our international field sites.

Help shape the future of the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park by contributing to the extraordinary wildlife habitats that attract visitors from around the world. Your support of the construction, botanical palette, and ongoing pursuit of excellence in wildlife habitats comes with opportunities for recognition for you, your foundation or corporation, or in honor or memory of a loved one.
