In keeping with the latest guidance set forth from the Governor’s Office, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park will reopen to the public on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, ending an almost two-month-long closure that began December 7, 2020.
Young patients, their families and invited guests were treated to a virtual adventure, complete with meeting animal ambassadors from the Virginia Living Museum, at UVA Children’s earlier today (Nov. 6, 2020). This special virtual event was held to announce the arrival of San Diego Zoo Kids, a closed-circuit television adventure channel, at UVA Children’s and Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville.
Southern white rhino Edward turned 1 year old today (July 28, 2020), and a birthday celebration was held in his honor at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center.
After being closed to guests since mid-March, San Diego Zoo Global has announced that the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park will reopen to the general public on Saturday, June 20th., ending the first major closure in the conservation organization’s 103-year history.
