With iconic stripes and a mesmerizing gaze, tigers are among the world’s most magnificent species. These majestic big cats are stealthy, stalking prey with a quiet confidence that demands respect.
Despite their size and power, tigers face a fragile future. Their habitat is quickly disappearing, bringing people and tigers into more frequent contact, and posing serious threats to tigers. While all tigers are endangered, Sumatran tigers face some of the biggest challenges—and with only 400 estimated to be left in their native habitats, they are critically endangered. Together with our partners in Sumatra, we’re working to better understand—and save—these elusive big cats through our Asian Rainforest conservation hub.
Join us on Friday, July 29 at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park's Tull Family Tiger Trail, as we celebrate Global Tiger Day, and all the ways you’re helping secure their future through our collaborative conservation efforts!
