Online Silent Auction Begins Countdown to Rendezvous In The Zoo (R·I·T·Z)—Roaring Forward
San Diego Zoo Global’s Fundraising Gala Goes Virtual, Sept. 12, 2020
Rendezvous In The Zoo (R·I·T·Z)—Roaring Forward, the premier fundraising gala for San Diego Zoo Global, is just one week away, but there’s no need to wait until the big event to start raising funds for wildlife. Starting today (Sept. 4, 2020), the conservation organization is encouraging the public to take part in the R·I·T·Z online silent auction, where anyone can bid on myriad one-of-a-kind items, including priceless artwork, jewelry, vacations, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and much more.
Funds raised during the ten-day silent auction and the R·I·T·Z virtual event on Sept. 12 will support the most urgent needs of wildlife at both the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and aid critically endangered species around the world through San Diego Zoo Global’s conservation initiatives.
Anyone with a computer or a smartphone can participate in this year’s gala for free, from the comfort of home, simply by visiting the San Diego Zoo Facebook Page. Online guests will enjoy a multitude of exciting activities, special appearances by San Diego Zoo’s Rady Animal Ambassadors, toe-tapping music from Wayne Foster Entertainment, fascinating stories about wildlife and updates on the organization’s worldwide conservation efforts—plus, many fun surprises.
Guests who purchase a ticket to participate in the gala’s special VIP virtual event—which starts an hour before the free “Mane Event”—will join an exclusive VIP virtual party and receive an “event in a box,” with champagne for a toast, a gourmet dinner and more, individually delivered to each VIP guest’s home.
The “Mane Event” event begins at 7 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, Sept. 12, and the exclusive VIP virtual event for ticket holders starts at 6 p.m.PDT. The online silent auction starts Sept. 4 and runs through Sept. 13.
