In 2015, people fell head over heels in love with Instagram. In fact, some avid users even named their babies after the app’s trendy and artistic filters. Here at the San Diego Zoo, we might have other means of naming our newborns, but we’re still big fans of Instagram. With over 333,000 followers and counting, we're making a huge impact on our audience by sharing stories, news, and updates about our facility and our conservation projects across the globe. Check out our photo and video highlights from 2015—and, if you don’t already, follow the Zoo's daily updates.

This #EarthDay we're thinking of Nola, 1 of 5 remaining Northern white rhinos on the planet (pictured). She lives at the @sdzsafaripark, and is a reminder of the danger rhinos face in the wild. A #rhino is poached every 8 hours. Don't be the generation that let rhinos go extinct. Join the fight to save #rhinos by lending a hand. Write "Stop Killing Rhinos" on your hand and post it on @Instagram or Twitter using the #Rally4Rhinos hashtag. You can also join us in person on #EndangeredSpeciesDay (May 15) as we #Rally4Rhinos at the @sdzsafaripark.
