Zoo InternQuest is a seven-week career exploration program for San Diego County high school juniors and seniors. Students have the unique opportunity to meet professionals working for the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, and Institute for Conservation Research, learn about their jobs, and then blog about their experience online. Follow their adventure here on the Zoo’s website! keith-pic-2Hey there! I’m Keith, a funny and all around happy guy. I am currently in my senior year of high school. My friends call me the “hype guy”, because I can get anyone’s spirit up with my good natured attitude. I can’t help it, I just see the bright side of life. The best compliment anyone can give me is “Keith, you’ve made my day!” For the past two years, I’ve been honored to be part of the San Diego Zoo’s awesome program called Zoo Corps, where students learn valuable speaking skills while educating the public on conservation, animal care and welfare.  Prior to Zoo Corps, I was convinced that I wanted to be a marine biologist, but being at the zoo made me realize that my passion for wildlife was not limited to the ocean.   I still love all things water but I’d like to explore a career in zoology. When I read about the Zoo InternQuest program in the ZooNooz magazine, I knew I had to apply. I mean really, how cool is it that I live in San Diego and have the opportunity to intern at one of the world’s best zoo!!Outside of my passion for wildlife, I love to be outdoors and play with my three super cool dogs, Sully, Lizzy and Macy. I love cranberry juice, hanging out with my twin sister, my friends, and my small group at church. At school, I love theater, choir, and every kind of science. I enjoy snorkeling, the beach, the Birch Aquarium, and my three fish tanks. I can’t wait for these 7 weeks of InternQuest to start.  I know I’m going to learn so much, and maybe even figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life.  I am very excited for this new adventure, and I can’t wait for you follow along through my blogs and pictures. I hope I’ve made your day! Keith Fall Session, 2016
