The season of color has returned! We’re ringing it in with the family-friendly Autumn Festival. On select Saturdays and Sundays in October, create heartwarming memories and enjoy good ol’ fashioned fun for everyone at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. October is also Kids Free, where young explorers can connect with their wild side while discovering the wonders of nature through play and exploration.

Autumn Adventures
Tune into the upbeat, modern soundtrack hosted by Safari Park Radio 197.2 in Safari Base Camp and make sure to listen for wildlife-themed trivia. It’s the perfect background as you enjoy seasonal cocktails, including the Stone Fruit Margarita and the Caramel Apple Mule, located throughout the Safari Park.
Next, wander over to Condor Ridge and meet Safari Parker. This explorer extraordinaire will entertain everyone with facts about burrowing owls, a species native to the Southwest, and share how vital they are to maintain their delicately balanced ecosystem. Plus, you’ll discover how your visits support this fascinating owl through our Southwest Conservation Hub.

Abundance of Activities
Most of the Autumn Festival fun is located in Nairobi Village. Listen to the down-home sounds of Ash Meadows, a talented duo featuring a musical combination of acoustic guitar and mandolin. If you want more festive fall sounds, head over to Discovery Grove and listen to the bluegrass melodies of The Barn Owls trio.
Keep an eye out for the wandering Not-So-Scary Scarecrows as they show off their juggling skills. They’ll even greet young wildlife explorers heading in to navigate the A-MAZE-ING Autumn Adventure. Then join our scarecrow hosts for Autumn Festival Jamboree, a country dance party that’s sure to get your toes tappin’ and your boots scootin’!
Satisfy your hunger with the Oktoberfest Bratwurst and Roasted Fall Harvest Salad, and save room for the decadent Brown Butter Blonde.
