The dazzling expedition of lights is back! Only at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, travel through places that glow, shine, and twinkle with holiday cheer during Wild Holidays. From the smallest tots to fully grown wildlife allies, everyone will get into the spirit of the season with musical entertainment, festive storytelling, and culinary delights.
Come early to visit your favorite wildlife during the day and then make the most of the Safari Park’s extended hours when you stay for Wild Holidays festivities.
Holiday Base
The festivities begin in the heart of the Safari Park at Safari Base Camp. Gather around the Wild Holidays Celebration Tree to gaze at the unique wildlife-themed décor and beautiful lighting, and listen to the jolly mix from Safari Park Radio 197.2. Take your pick of S’mores, Peppermint, or Cookie Butter Hot Chocolate to keep warm all night long from Safari Coffee Outpost.
Now you’re ready to explore! With your cozy beverage in hand, relax with familiar tunes of Light up the Holidays, where a radiant display pairs delightfully with a merry holiday soundtrack. Carry the warm, fuzzy feeling with you as you travel through the magical and musical Bridge of Lights.
Add a visit to Santa to your list and make sure to check it twice. Between advising the elves and taking toy inventory, he’s ready to hear your holiday wishes—and snap a photo with him and the whole family, too!
Cheery Tunes & Twinkling Lights
Take a holiday hop next door to Nairobi Village. Safari Parker, our adventurer extraordinaire, has a charming original tale for you. Settle in as they recite, ‘Twas the Night Before Wild Holidays—a story filled with fun, surprises, and even a wintery finale.
Next, spread cheer for all to hear with our Holiday Troubadour in Discovery Grove. Afterwards, wander over to Nairobi Walk where you’ll relish in the sweet sounds of the violin duo, the Turtle Doves. Lights will guide you to more holiday magic, so follow the illuminated path down Nairobi Lantern Walk.
On your way around Lagoon Loop, stop for a holiday feast at Mombasa Cooker. Share the satisfyingly savory Christmas Poutine Fries and wash them down with the seasonal holiday draft beer or the refreshing Mistletoe Margarita.
Still hungry? Discover more flavors of the season with the fresh Wild Holidays Cobb Salad and the oh-so-delicious Holiday Dinner Bowl. It’s the holidays, so there must be dessert! The cinnamon sugar-coated, whipped cream-topped Buñuelos Nachos are sure to scratch the itch for something scrumptious.
After your meal, continue your stroll around the lagoon. Under the moonlight, it transforms into the Enchanted Lagoon. Sparkling, flickering, and floating holiday lights dance across the water’s surface, adding seasonal ambiance to the beauty of the lighted waterfall.
Merrily We Go Along
The magic doesn’t end there. Located at Tiger Trail, Walkabout Australia, and Condor Ridge, The Spirit of the Season is perfect for decked out holiday photos with the whole family. And keep an ear out! Holiday classics performed by Sweater Weather, the traveling guitar duo, fill the air as they stroll through Condor Ridge and Walkabout Australia.
There’s even more “oohs” and “ahhs” to come. The Southwest glows in a whole new light with Lights of Baja at Condor Ridge. Plus, the Forest of Color brilliantly illuminates Arbor Walk, making for a colorful journey.
