In response to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation, San Diego Zoo Global has announced a temporary closure of the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to the public, beginning Monday, March 16.

San Diego Zoo Global recognizes the gravity of the ever-changing COVID-19 situation and are working to do our part to protect the health and welfare of our community and the wildlife in our care, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park will remain open with some changes in our operations.

A San Diego Zoo Safari Park senior registered veterinary technician, Kristin McCaffree, recently assisted during the medical examination of a platypus being cared for at the Taronga Zoo.
