SAN DIEGO (May 14, 2021) – Wildlife care specialists at the San Diego Zoo welcomed the birth of a female golden takin last month, the first of this takin subspecies to be born in the Western Hemisphere. The female calf is named Mei Ling, meaning “beautiful antelope” in the Mandarin language. 

Kenny Loggins, one of pop music’s greatest hit makers, treated young patients and their families at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego — along with viewers from around the globe — to a virtual adventure earlier today (Jan. 28, 2021) when he debuted “The Great Adventure,” a custom theme song recorded by Loggins for the San Diego Zoo Kids Channel.
