Zoo InternQuest is a seven-week career exploration program for San Diego County high school juniors and seniors. Students have the unique opportunity to meet professionals working for the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, and Institute for Conservation Research, learn about their jobs, and then blog about their experience online. Follow their adventure here on the Zoo’s website! ethanHello! My name is Ethan, and yes, I have been hearing puns about the word “good” for 18 years now. I am currently in my senior year of high school and can’t wait to continue forward in my life. I love exercising and I’ve been on my high school's swim team every year now. I also enjoy taking challenging classes at my school and learning about how the world works. My favorite subject is history because it’s really interesting hearing about all the people who were just like us, and how they were able to change the world. When I’m not in school or exercising, I like to read, play video games, and volunteer with conservation groups. I’ve always known that I wanted to work in nature, but it wasn’t until high school that I really started to look at what field I should go into. Even today, I’m still deciding whether I want to work in environmental education or ecology. InternQuest is perfect because it will help me not only make my choice, but also give me valuable experience. I’ve always loved the Zoo, and I hope that you’ll read along as I learn all about the inner workings of the San Diego Zoo. Ethan Fall Session, 2016
