Rendezvous In The Zoo (R·I·T·Z)—Roaring Forward, the premier fundraising gala for San Diego Zoo Global, is just one week away, but there’s no need to wait until the big event to start raising funds for wildlife. 

On Aug. 6, 2020, the world’s first successfully cloned Przewalski’s horse was born in Texas at the veterinary facility of a ViaGen Equine collaborator, Timber Creek Veterinary. The foal, born to a domestic surrogate mother, is a clone of a male Przewalski’s horse whose DNA was cryopreserved 40 years ago at the San Diego Zoo Global (SDZG) Frozen Zoo®. 

A splendid sunbird chick that hatched on July 21 has been successfully reared at San Diego Zoo's Conrad Prebys Africa Rocks Aviary—a first for this tiny African species at the Zoo.
